Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! By Marriott Durban Umhlanga Ridge, Durban

The hotel is located in a busy area, which makes it quite noisy, especially at night. The rooms, while having everything a traveler needs, are on the smaller side and can get very cold due to the air conditioning. On the bright side, the staff was friendly and accommodating. Overall, I think it's a decent spot, but the noise and small room size are definitely drawbacks.

I had a decent stay at this hotel. It’s in a fantastic location right across from Gateway Mall, making it really convenient for shopping and dining. The rooms were clean, but definitely on the small side and not very stylish. The staff was generally friendly and helpful, although I did encounter one with a bad attitude. The dining options were extensive, but I didn’t try the hotel’s restaurant since there were so many great choices nearby.

Overall, my stay at the hotel was quite pleasant. The views were beautiful, and I appreciated the peaceful surroundings. However, the service could use some improvement, especially with noise management during the day. The dining options left a bit to be desired as well, but the clean rooms made up for some of these issues. While I enjoyed my stay, I do think the pricing could be more aligned with the experience provided.
